Each year the Queen Anne's County Retired School Personnel Association sponsors two $1,000 scholarships, awarded to graduating seniors who are majoring in education with the intent of becoming a teacher. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the required information must be submitted to the Scholarship Committee and postmarked on or before April 15. Interested applicants with a grade point average 3.0 or higher and graduating from one of the Queen Anne's County public high schools, should contact their high school guidance counselor for more information.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CRITERIA
Two $1,000 scholarships, one to each of the two public high schools in Queen Anne's County, shall be awarded to a graduating senior. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the required information must be postmarked on or before April 15.
The following criteria will be used in determining the scholarship recipient:

The student should be a graduating senior from one of the Queen Anne's County public high schools;

The student should be majoring in education with the intent of becoming a teacher;

The student should have a grade point average of 3.0; an official transcript of the student's grades must be submitted;

The student must have established a record of community service and/or extra-curricular activities; a resume or list should be submitted; and
-
The student must submit by April 15 recommendations by one (1) teacher and the grade counselor and a letter written by the student stating the need for the scholarship and the student's qualifications for the award.
